FAELSAFE LTD SECURES THE FIRE ALARM SUBCONTRACT FOR LEEDS ARENA

Construction of the Leeds Arena started in May 2011 with the groundbreaking taking place in the February.

This huge £60million construction project will bring over £25 million to the local economy every year and bring 300 full time jobs with potentially 90 apprenticeships.

The Leeds Arena will set a new benchmark in arena design, being the UK’s first purpose built arena with a ‘fan-shape super theatre design’ which guarantees that every seat in the house will enjoy perfect sightlines of the centre stage – 68 metres will be the longest distance from the stage as opposed to 90-95 metres at a conventional arena.

The building will also be energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The roof will collect rainwater to be reused within the building; an area will have a green sedum roof whilst heating will come from air source pumps. Such features will help the Leeds Arena set a new standard for the sustainable performance of arenas in the United Kingdom.

The arena is due to open it’s doors in early 2013 and will be one of the most exciting venues to visit in Europe.

Faelsafe Ltd is proud to be a part of this environmentally friendly, economy-building project.
